"A loud cry was heard in Ramah--weeping and great mourning. Rachel weeps for her children, refusing to be comforted, for they are dead."  Matthew 2:18

Through the grace of God and because "a loud cry was heard inside the Rockford killing Center" one mother will not have to weep and mourn because now her child is alive!
On Friday February 26, an estimated 12 children died inside Rockford's killing center.  At approximately 8:30 as a good-sized group of people were praying on the sidewalks, a young mother drove into the parking lot and entered the building.  A few minutes later the mother came hurrying out of the clinic, got into her car, and quickly went straight to the sidewalk counselors.
The young mom was scared and said the moment she got into the waiting room, "I heard a loud scream that frightened me more than anything ever has in my life."  The sidewalk counselors patiently talked with her and assured her that everything was OK now that she and her baby were outside the clinic.

Seeing the sidewalk counselors reassuring the young mother, the mill security guard shouted through  his amplified loud speakers and ordered her to move. The young mom who had just been through such a traumatic experience would not budge. She continued to stay with the sidewalk counselors who were helping her.  Then the security guard started yelling and threatening the young mother with arrest if she didn't move.
It was a beautiful thing to see the young mom who had just had such a frightening experience inside the killing center now courageously ignoring those who a short time before wanted to profit from the death of her child.

The sidewalk counselors invited the young mother over to the Rockford Labor News building where they were all able to sit down and discuss the mother's and child's needs for the future.  Help, love, support, and friendship are what this young mom will receive from the Rockford pro-life community.

As for the scream the young mother heard inside the former school building?  (As you know, it is now an abortion mill where over 50,000 children have been killed, and these deaths have been celebrated by the clinic as a victory over Jesus Christ.)

We were not sure where the scream came from.   The abortionist had not arrived so the child killing had not yet begun.  No matter if the scream was of natural or supernatural origin, it saved a child's life.

Thank God that this one scream was not a silent scream like the 50,000 silent screams that have gone before it in this abortuary.

On Wednesday March 3, an estimated 10 human lives were ended inside of Rockford's abortion mill.  Many Christians were on the sidewalks in prayer this morning, even a man who was at the clinic with a sign offering to adopt any child in need of a family.  Sadly he had no takers.

One woman driving an expensive SUV pulled into the parking lot with her depressed looking teenage daughter. The woman driving the SUV looked very annoyed at having to be at this place and her daughter was nearly in tears.  This is a heartbreaking story we have seen many times here.  A teenager becomes pregnant and her parents, instead of helping her, take her to a place that will kill their own grandchild.  Somehow they think this will make it all go away but as we know from countless personal stories this only begins the heartbreak, depression, broken relationships, and broken lives.

Killing a child in the womb of her mother never makes anything better - it only leads to the disintegration of individuals and our society.

In the witness of love that 40 Days for Life is providing our community we can pray and hope for the grace, forgiveness, and healing that only Jesus Christ can give us so all people may know:

"I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."  John 10:10

The mission of Rockford Pro-Life Initiative is to eliminate abortion in the Rockford area through Prayer, Fasting, Education, and Personal Sacrifice.

Day 10 of 40 Days for Life: 107 Babies Saved…that we Know of!
Commentary by David Bereit, National Coordinator, 40 Days for Life

March 1, 2010 (40DaysforLife) - Whenever talking about babies saved from abortion through God's mercy and the prayers of 40 Days for Life participants, I usually add the words "that we know of." After all, we really don't know how many lives have been spared in ways that only God will ever know. We just have to trust Him!

With that in mind, I can tell you that thus far in this 40 Days for Life campaign, 107 babies have been saved from abortion ... that we know of!
We don't know, for instance, how many abortions were prevented because the abortion facility was closed one day last week in Overland Park, Kansas.

"The place was empty," said Valerie. Apparently, heating and plumbing problems kept the doors shut all day. "Praise God for allowing women to have another chance to think about what they are doing."

Most of the time, we don't know how many women change their minds - and simply don't show up for their abortion appointment.
We do, however, know of at least one.

Judy in La Puente, California said a young man walked up to 40 Days for Life vigil participants to thank them for being there.
"Because he had seen us outside praying, he had the courage to convince his girlfriend not to have an abortion," she said. "You just never know how many others never get to the abortion site because of our presence. Praise God!"

That may be happening in other cities as well. Mary in Everett, Washington noted that last Monday, the abortion facility "wasn't as busy as I remember on Mondays during the last campaign."

It's great news whenever business decreases at the abortion center!

In Fayetteville, Arkansas - yes, the same city where the abortionist went on TV to call 40 Days for Life "silly" - a young man sporting a Mohawk haircut, leather jacket and sunglasses is parading in front of the abortion center with a homemade poster that reads "I love abortion."
He, too, drew the attention of a local TV station, telling the reporter that pro-life people "incite hatred." The video shows a mom and her two children quietly praying, with other people behind them peacefully standing in prayer as well.  Inciting hatred? Of course not! And anyone watching the newscast could clearly see that.

As for the guy with the "I love abortion" sign - and the other person who joined him later offering "free coat hangers" - vigil participant Christy White simply told the reporter, "We're just praying for conversion of their hearts."

Abortion Is Devastating the African American Community… Is Anyone Noticing?
Commentary by Deal W. Hudson
March 2, 2010 (InsideCatholic.com) - According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, African American women have 40 percent of the nation's abortions, but make up only 13 percent of the population. That black children are being aborted at such a high rate has not been a subject of discussion among the Democrats in the Congress and the White House, who insist on leaving the door open for abortion funding in the health care bill.

But a recent article in the New York Times suggests that the disproportionate price being paid in the African American community for the pro-abortion advocacy of Planned Parenthood is beginning to be noticed. According to the piece, Georgia Right to Life changed its tactics last year by having minority outreach coordinator Catherine Davis visit black churches throughout the state, "delivering the message that abortion is the primary tool in a decades-old conspiracy to kill off blacks."

Pro-life activists have long known that Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, explicitly recommended the "eugenics value" of abortion as a means of suppressing minority populations. But now the story of the nefarious roots of the abortion movement are gaining traction among the African Americans that Davis met with. As a result, Georgia Right to Life expanded its outreach effort by leasing space on 80 Atlanta billboards, all bearing the message, "Black children are an endangered species," along with a special Web site, www.toomanyaborted.com.

Another abortion opponent, Mark Crutcher, president of Life Dynamics, has produced the film Maafa 21, documenting the roots of the abortion-rights movement in America and its impact on the African American community. According to Crutcher's Web site:
When slavery ended, their welcome was over. America's wealthy elite had decided it was time for them to disappear and they were not particular about how it might be done. What you are about to see is that the plan these people set in motion 150 years ago is still being carried out today.
The film's trailer opens with chilling quotes from American eugenicists like Sanger. Her attitude toward the "inferior" black race is startling for a woman born in Corning, New York, to a devout Catholic family of eleven children.

Priests for Life has kept a close eye on this issue for many years. Rev. Frank Pavone's African-American outreach is led by Alveda King, a niece of Dr. Martin Luther King. King and Day Gardner, head of the National Black Pro-Life Union, are the country's most visible black opponents of abortion. Their combined efforts had been slow-going until this recent breakthrough by Georgia Right to Life and the inroads made by Crutcher's film.

A telling detail at the end of the New York Times article helps illustrate just how much progress has been made on this front. Maafa 21 was shown at the historic Morris Brown College in Atlanta, which has been graduating black leaders in business and politics for decades. It made an impression.

"Before we saw the movie, I was pro-choice," said Markita Eddy, a sophomore. But were she to get pregnant now? "It showed me that maybe I should want to keep my child no matter what my position was," Eddy said, "just because of the conspiracy."

Not long ago, I listened to a lengthy discussion among several pro-life leaders about abortion in the African American community. Some believed that this was where the pervasive culture of death could actually be turned back. I responded that winning that battle, given the alignment of African American leadership with the Democratic Party, would take a very long time and had a low probability of success. Maybe I was wrong.

Abortion Practitioner Accused of Running Over 40 Days for Life Pro-Life Signs
Reno, NV(LifeNews.com) -- Upset by the peaceful pro-life signs that adorn the public sidewalk outside his abortion center, Nevada-based abortion practitioner Damon Stutes reportedly decided to take matters into his own hands. On Friday morning, local pro-life advocates say he aggressively ran over with his vehicle signs that have stood in front of his center for a year.

For the past year, two local pro-life volunteers have stood to pray and encourage women to consider positive abortion alternatives by offering referrals to centers that address the challenges they face due to an unexpected pregnancy.

To assist them in this effort, a local resident who had seen their small hand-held signs donated four large signs that together read “Abortion Stops A Beating Heart.”
Carol Marie Siedenburg of 40 Days for Life Reno informed LifeNews.com about the incident.

"On Friday morning, at approximately 8:10 am, while approaching the abortion site, Dr. Damon Stutes drove off the road and onto the dirt shoulder and ran over two of the signs before crossing back across the street and driving into the driveway of the abortion site property," she said.

"A police report has been filed and will be followed up by their criminal investigators," she added.

Day 14 of 40 Days for Life: "Remember that this is Spiritual Warfare"
March 2, 2010 (40DaysforLife.com) - I'm home in Virginia for a short time before heading back out on the road. My wife, Margaret, asked if our family could go pray at a nearby 40 Days for Life vigil -- so we piled in the minivan and headed an hour south to Richmond to join other prayer warriors outside a local abortion center. I remembered to bring my pocket video camera, and just posted a 5-minute video documenting the visit online here.

Trusting God can be challenging. You don't always see instant results when you pray at an abortion center. But that's all right. We often have to take it on faith that God is at work behind the scenes.

Three prayer volunteers at the 40 Days for Life vigil in Roanoke, Virginia talked to a young mom who was obviously well along in her pregnancy. She was unmarried and poor and had four small children.

"We prayed with her and asked her to give her baby life," said one of the vigil participants. "Let us have the baby, we said, and we would find a home."

The young mother cried and allowed the three to hug her. And then she walked into the abortion center.

"I can't get her off my mind," the volunteer said. "She held on so tightly to me. I don't know what she will ultimately decide. Please, please keep up your prayers and sacrifices."

Please remember that this is spiritual warfare. And sometimes when you watch carefully, you start to observe subtle changes.
"When there are large groups of people in prayer being led by members of the clergy, it really seems to affect the Planned Parenthood escorts and workers," said one of the 40 Days for Life leadership team members in Houston, Texas.

She said the Planned Parenthood staff can become very agitated and appear nervous. A few even back off from escorting their clients and allow sidewalk counselors to hand out literature without interference.

"Oh, if we could see the spiritual warfare that must be going on!" she said.

Nikki in Pittsburgh sees a similar impact. "What a difference prayer makes," she said.

She said that during the 40 Days for Life prayer vigil, what is normally a very busy, noisy sidewalk was covered in the peaceful presence of God.
"It even seemed that the noise of the buses were muffled, drowned out by the prayers of the people. It was so powerful," she said.

For some reason, more young women were willing to take her informational brochures. More people were willing to talk to her. More girls were willing to take brochures into the clinic than usual. More people were receptive to talking to her, including one teenage couple.

This couple, however, continued on their way into the clinic. "But I believe came back out after only a few minutes. I didn't get to talk to them," Nikki said, "but I hope and pray that they changed their minds."

"Please know that we are planting seeds," said Linda, one of the local 40 Days for Life coordinators in Canton, Ohio. "We are visible signs of Christ; and with God guiding us we are making a difference."
